Mr. L. K.
Ganguli served as Director (Administration & Finance) and Secretary at the
National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT). With a
distinguished career spanning over 12 years, Mr. Ganguli has been instrumental
in shaping the administrative and financial landscape of the Council, ensuring
seamless operations and fostering growth in the hospitality education sector.
Renowned for his exceptional work ethic, he combines diligence with a calm and
composed demeanour. His leadership style, marked by genuine care for those
around him, creates a supportive and collaborative environment. Colleagues and
subordinates appreciate his approachability and generosity, cultivating a
positive and productive workplace culture.
Under his
directorship, NCHMCT has streamlined not only the administrative functions but
implemented robust financial strategies, significantly enhancing the Council's
capabilities. During 2013 and 2017 he was the only Director in the Council,
discharging the responsibilities of Studies Division. He was instrumental in
Academic tie up with EHL, Lausanne, Switzerland (world top and oldest
Hospitality School) during 2014. Creation of Academic Division was his
initiative in 2015-16. His strategic
vision and meticulous attention to detail have been pivotal in driving the
organization's mission forward. Redevelopment of the campus by adding one
Academic Block, two Hostel blocks, one Guest Hose block and one staff quarter
blocks was his initiative and vision. He was a visionary for the Council and
brought many reforms like – Revised Affiliation norms for transparent process
of affiliation, National Hospitality Teachers Eligibility Test to bring quality
in teachers of IHMs, Anti-Ragging norms to curb Ragging in IHMs, Research
Fellowship Scheme to encourage research in the field of Hospitality, Adjunct
Faculty Scheme to bring the Industry veterans to contribute in the carrier
building of students in IHMs, Teaching Associate Scheme to give opportunity to
the tomorrows teachers to practice teaching at IHMs and many more. He designed
a National Council Library network, having video class section, e-books
section, digital books section and even the physical book section. It was also his
creation that the NCHM library is open in all days (except 26th
January, 15th August and 2nd October) in a year from 8.00
am to 8.00 pm. A dedicated professional, Mr. Ganguli's commitment extends
beyond his official responsibilities. He is a mentor and guide to many, always
ready to lend a helping hand or offer wise counsel not only within the Council
but to any of its affiliated Institute. His contributions have left an
indelible mark on NCHMCT in particular and entire IHM as well as Hospitality
fraternity, inspiring all who have the privilege of working with him.

Ganguli ji is full of energy, vitality, and enthusiasm. He is confident,
creative, curious, determined, enthusiastic, flexible, motivated, and
open-minded. Constantly seeking new opportunities, experiences, and challenges,
he is not afraid to take risks to achieve his goals. Highly adaptable, he can
quickly change course when faced with obstacles or setbacks and is always
looking for ways to grow and improve. He guides everyone in a positive
direction, serving as a good mentor, motivator, and a guide akin to a father
figure when someone is stuck anywhere.
